Project Status
The project remains in development. Final configuration depends on verified site, resource, grid, geotechnical, environmental, equipment and commercial inputs and on the approvals required by the relevant authorities.
Solar PV Capacity
The approved development figure is 502.3 MWp of solar PV capacity. MWp refers to the aggregate peak direct-current rating of the photovoltaic modules under standard test conditions; it is not the same as grid export capacity.
BESS Energy Capacity
The approved development figure is 428.64 MWh. MWh describes stored energy capacity. The corresponding power rating and usable operating window require confirmation through duty-cycle, degradation, grid and equipment studies.
Grid Injection Limit
The approved grid injection figure is 350 MWac. MWac describes alternating-current power at the grid interface. The final export control philosophy must follow the grid connection requirements and validated power-system studies.
High-Level System Architecture
A development-stage architecture typically coordinates PV arrays, DC collection, inverters, medium-voltage collection, the BESS, transformers, protection, metering, plant controls and the point of interconnection. Final topology remains subject to engineering studies and equipment selection.
Solar / BESS Interaction
Storage can be dispatched to meet defined grid and plant objectives such as controlled export, time shifting or response services. The actual operating modes for this project have not been presented as completed or guaranteed and require an approved control and commercial basis.
Grid Interface
Interconnection design requires verified grid data, fault levels, voltage and frequency requirements, reactive-power obligations, protection settings, metering requirements and utility study results.
EMS / SCADA Role
An energy management system can coordinate operating targets across the solar plant, BESS and grid limit. SCADA provides supervision, alarms, trends and operator interfaces. Their final functions, redundancy and communication architecture remain development-stage decisions.
Electrical Integration
Electrical design must coordinate voltage levels, inverter and transformer selection, collection circuits, auxiliary supplies, earthing, protection, metering and the point of interconnection. Ratings require validated load-flow, short-circuit and other applicable studies.
Civil / Site Interfaces
Survey boundaries, topography, drainage, access, geotechnical conditions, equipment foundations, cable routes, fire access and environmental constraints affect the developable layout and must be verified.
Development-Stage Engineering Inputs
Key inputs include site survey and land data, solar resource data, grid requirements, geotechnical and environmental information, equipment assumptions, operating objectives, dispatch requirements and applicable codes.
BESS Sizing Considerations
BESS duration and usable capacity depend on the required duty cycle, power rating, state-of-charge window, efficiency, degradation allowance, ambient conditions, augmentation strategy and grid obligations. The published 428.64 MWh figure must not be converted into an assumed duration without the associated power basis.
Key Technical Decisions Still Required
- Final PV and BESS equipment selections and ratings.
- Validated grid studies and connection requirements.
- Operating modes, dispatch priorities and control hierarchy.
- Usable BESS energy window, degradation and augmentation basis.
- Final civil layout, cable routing, fire strategy and site interfaces.

FAQ
What is the difference between MWp, MWac and MWh?
MWp is the peak direct-current rating of PV modules, MWac is alternating-current power at an AC interface, and MWh is stored or delivered energy over time. They measure different properties.
Why is BESS paired with solar?
BESS can support defined operating objectives such as controlled export, time shifting or grid response, subject to the project control strategy, grid rules and commercial basis.
What determines BESS duration?
Duration depends on usable energy divided by the applicable power level, together with state-of-charge limits, efficiency, degradation, ambient conditions and the required duty cycle.
What determines grid injection capacity?
Grid injection capacity is governed by the connection agreement, network capability, power-system studies, plant equipment ratings, protection and the approved export-control philosophy.
What is the role of the EMS?
The EMS can coordinate solar, storage and grid-interface targets according to approved operating modes, constraints and dispatch instructions.
What is the role of SCADA?
SCADA provides monitoring, alarms, trends, event records and operator control interfaces for the plant systems defined in the final architecture.
What grid studies may be required?
Requirements can include load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, reactive power, harmonic, dynamic or other studies specified by the grid operator.
What site data are required?
Development normally requires verified boundaries, topography, access, drainage, geotechnical conditions, environmental constraints, solar resource information and grid-interface data.
How are solar and storage integrated?
Integration coordinates electrical collection, conversion equipment, transformers, protection, metering, communications and the EMS or plant controller at the grid interface.
What is needed before EPC design?
Before detailed EPC design, the project needs an approved design basis, verified site and grid data, study results, equipment assumptions, operating requirements, responsibility boundaries and applicable codes.
